A young, hungry first XI?
So with the season approaching and Moyes stated goal of a 'young, hungry first XI' where are we on that. If that was the primary criteria for selecting our first XI, then seems we're not too far away:

Fabianski (35, old, but that's ok for a keeper)

Fredericks (27)
Diop (23)
Ogbonna (32)
Johnson (20)

Rice (21)
Soucek (25)

Bowen (23)
Fornals (24)
Diangana (22)

Haller (26)

That is obviously given the current squad not likely to be our first choice XI, but if it was named on a teamsheet I'd not be too concerned, and has more than enough youthful and early to mid-20s players to be the right blend.

Many are down on this transfer window, but we're really not that far away from a decent energetic side.

It's all relative

Young = younger than the board
Hungry = more ruthless than the board in front of goal

Maybe by young and hungry he meant we’re going to be adding a load of Ethiopian teens to the u23s?

The real question is how many of Stubbo's young hungry team will still be here when the season starts - Diangana, Formals Rice how many more
